Chef Matty Matheson found himself with different surroundings Monday night, as ‘The Bear’ cleaned up at the 75th Emmy Awards.
Matheson, a Fort Erie-native, gave the acceptance speech when the show won the award for ‘Outstanding Comedy Series’, one of six the show and its cast collected. Matheson has acted on the show as ‘Neil Fak’ since the first season, and served as an Executive Producer during the second season.
In his speech, Matheson passionately thanked restaurants and the hospitality industry as a whole, as well as mentioning the hard work put into creating the show.
Matheson moved to Fort Erie from eastern-Canada when he was 11 years old, before moving to Toronto at age 19. Since then, he has opened numerous restaurants and appeared on a number of cooking shows. In 2022, Matheson opened Rizzo’s House of Parm in Fort Erie.
