In just over two month’s time, Niagara Falls will be in the path of totality for a solar eclipse.
President and CEO of Niagara Falls Tourism Janice Thomson she’s expecting lots of additional tourists for the event, but they’re ready for it.
Thomson says she’s anticipating people to come from far and wide to see the eclipse near the falls.
The day of the eclipse is unique in itself for tourism, as Mondays and April aren’t traditionally as busy are other times of the year. Thomson says she thinks it may be the busiest April 8th the Falls has seen.
Niagara Falls ranks #11 on National Geographic’s ‘Best of the World’ list for 2024 because of the incoming solar eclipse on April 8th, and is the highest ranked place on the list to view the eclipse.
The last time Niagara Falls found itself in the path of totality for a solar eclipse was 1925, and it’s not expected to happen again until 2144.
