The Province’s police watchdog says there’s no grounds for charges against Niagara Regional Police officers following a man’s death in October.
The SIU says on October 23 last year, NRPS responded to a home in St. Catharines about a domestic disturbance, in which a man had attacked a family member with a knife. The SIU concludes the man charged at police while holding the knife, resulting in a number of gunshots from two officers.
The man later died in hospital.
