The total solar eclipse set to hit the region in just over a month now has a soundtrack.
Niagara Falls Tourism announced a free concert for the day of the eclipse, which will be headlined by The Glorious Sons, and also includes JJ Wilde, New Friends, The Boneheads and the Niagara Symphony Orchestra.
The free show will start at 2:30pm, about an hour before the total eclipse, and will run until 10:00pm that evening at Queen Victoria Park. Mayor Jim Diodati says it’s important that the city have a ton of events planned, as it’s expected to be the epicenter of the path of totality.
The last time Niagara Falls found itself in the path of totality for a solar eclipse was 1925, and it’s not expected to happen again until 2144.
Eclipse facts:
- Dates/Times: Monday, April 8. 2024 – Begins: 2:04pm, maximum eclipse 3:20pm, ends 4:32pm.
