After a State of Emergency was declared by Niagara Regional Chair Jim Bradley on Thursday, different organizations in Niagara continue to prepare for the total solar eclipse next Monday.
Constable Phil Gavin with Niagara Regional Police says they’ve taken a number of measures to make sure everyone is safe as possible.
Gavin adds that some of the major roads that are closed can be used by first responders, to ensure they aren’t stuck in traffic in case of an emergency.
He notes that some nearby police services, including London, are also lending some officers to Niagara for eclipse day.
