Update 12:45pm
Niagara Regional Police say there is no threat to public safety, after a Code Silver at Niagara Health’s St. Catharines hospital site this morning.
Police say there was a person that they suspected had a gun in the hospital, and the lockdown was called as a result.
After police arrived on scene, NRPS was able to determine that the call came from a person in crisis, and was deemed to be false.
Police say no further threats have been identified. As a result of today’s Code Silver at the St. Catharines hospital, Niagara Health will be postponing today’s Niagara-on-the-Lake engagement session.
