The Pelham Art Festival is back again this weekend at the Meridian Community Centre.
Member at Large Tammy van den Brink says the festival has grown a lot over the years, including an online aspect.
Since 1988, visitors to the festival have spent over $1-million buying art, contributing to the economic prosperity of participating artists.
van den Brink says this is one of the reasons that it’s always such a big hit within the art community of Niagara.
In addition to being an art attraction for many in the region, the Pelham Art Festival also has a charitable side to it.
Festival proceeds benefit the Lincoln Pelham Library and provide annual scholarships to graduating Pelham students who are pursuing post-secondary studies in fine art from E.L. Crossley Secondary School and Notre Dame College School.
The Festival also supports various community art projects. To date, the festival has donated over $485,500 back to the community.
