A looming Canada Border Services Agency strike was put on hold last minute Friday, in an efforts to keep negotiations moving.
CBSA workers have been working without a contract since June 2022, while its union has been pushing for higher wages and retirement benefits. Friday had been eyed as a deadline for a strike action, but mediation will now continue until Wednesday.
More than 9000 workers could strike if an agreement isn’t reached by mid-week.
