This weekend, Merritt Park’s amphitheatre will be alive with music, food trucks, vendors, and more as the Welland Rose Festival presents Days in the Park.
The event kicks off today at 5 p.m. with bands performing on the floating stage at 151 King Street.
On Saturday, the festivities run from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., featuring 25 vendors and a 7.3-metre rock climbing wall and a 16-metre obstacle course from Black Rock Climbers Inc.
Bands include British Invasion at 6:30 p.m. and Elton Rohn at 8 p.m., with a fireworks show at 10 p.m.
Sunday’s events start at 10 a.m. and end at 6 p.m, and include The Rose Festival’s grande parade in the afternoon, and the Father’s Day parade, which begins at Welland Arena at 1 p.m., ending at Hellems Avenue.
As far as road closures go for the festival, there’s a few to keep note of.
On Sunday, June 16th, from 8 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., King Street from Division Street to East Main Street, and East Main Street from King Street to Hellems Avenue, will be closed for Grand Parade, weather permitting.
Emergency Services will not have through access during this time.
