The IceDogs will open the 24-25 season September 27th on the road in Eastern Ontario with games in Ottawa and Kingston. The OHL has released the regular season schedule that sees the IceDogs begin with three straight on the road and the latest home opener in the twenty team league, Sunday October 6th at 2pm against the newly relocated Brampton Steelheads.
The home schedule will feature a family friendly 12 Sunday afternoon home games. Thursdays, Niagara will be in the Meridian Centre 8 times, with 7 on Friday and 5 more on Saturdays. There will be 2 Tuesday night games, including the traditional New Year’s Eve 6pm matchup, this year with Peterborough.
Other home highlights, the Memorial Cup champion Saginaw Spirit will be here January 9th. London arrives in St Catharines March 1st, with Oshawa’s only visit October 24th.
It promises to be a challenging 68 game ride. Ben Boudreau’s squad will be on the road for 7 straight games in December, that includes the only visits to Saginaw, Flint and the Soo. The longest “homestand” is four straight.
