Tight and bright.
That’s the message from officials at the Welland Jackfish, ahead of their 80s Night this weekend, presented by Classic Rock 91.7 Giant FM.
On the field, the Jackfish will be looking to improve to 9-0 at Welland Stadium this season. They’re in London Friday night, aiming for their 9th win in a row total.
Off the field, fans are encouraged to show up in bright neon clothing to celebrate 80s Night, while classic hits from the 80s will be playing through the stadium’s PA systems all evening. The first 500 fans in to the stadium will also get a drawstring bag, courtesy of 91.7 Giant FM.
80s Night is just one of many themed nights the Jackfish do every season, while others include Bark in the Park, Pajama Night and Dodgeball Night, to name a few. Director of Fun Ryan Harrison says the goal is to always send fans home happy, regardless of which game they go to.
After opening the season with a 3 win, 3 loss record, the Jackfish have heated up, and have now been undefeated since May 30th and sit first in the Intercounty Baseball League standings, 1.5 games ahead of the Barrie Baycats.
Harrison says the team is going out there and having a blast every game.
First pitch for tomorrow’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs is scheduled for 6:05pm, while the team will also be hosting a fireworks show after the game is over for fans to enjoy from the comfort of Welland Stadium.
