
The Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada made a stop in St. Catharines today.
Pierre Poilievre visited Steelcon on Grantham Avenue to speak to workers at the site, with the goal of getting the temperature.
Audio PlayerPoilievre, who has been the official Leader of the Opposition since 2022, says he wanted to get some of his messaging across to the workers there – and feels it resonated.
Audio PlayerSteelcon VP of Operations Mark Hvratin was also on hand for Poilievre’s speed, and says he feels it was received well by those working at the warehouse.
Audio PlayerPoilievre also visited the shipyards in St. Catharines this morning, before meeting with workers at Steelcon around 3:00pm and touring the facility. Steelcon is a group of structural steel companies that design, fabricate, and build industrial, commercial, institutional, and multi-residential projects. In St. Catharines, they employ 125 people, working with over 400 tons of steel on a weekly basis.
According to a recent Abacus poll, if an election were held today, more than 40% of committed voters would choose the Conservatives. In comparison, 23% would support the Liberals, 18% would back the NDP, and 5% would vote Green Party.
