The provincial government is investing $10-million in Ontario Shipyards in St. Catharines.
Premier Doug Ford was in town earlier today, and says the money will be used in the shipbuilding and repair sectors.
Ontario Shipyards will deliver training, re-skilling and up-skilling programs for careers in the millwright, welding, electrical and painting trades.
Ford says it’s all part of a larger marine transportation strategy.
The funding comes through the province’s Skills Development Fund Training Stream.
