Loblaw is launching a new ultra-discount grocery concept in Ontario, starting with No Name stores in St. Catharines, Windsor, and Brockville this September.
These stores will offer lower prices by cutting back on extras, with limited marketing and operating hours from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The location is St. Catharines appears to be in the Boston Pizza plaza at 333 Ontario Street.
They will feature essentials like frozen items and pantry staples but no dairy or fresh meat, and will have scaled back advertising and flyers. Roughly 66% of the products will be below $5, and just under 60% will be No Name or President’s Choice brands.
This move follows Loblaw’s introduction of smaller No Frills stores earlier this year.
