
A crash early this morning in Niagara Falls has claimed the life of a 36-year-old woman.
Police were called to the scene at around 1 a.m. on McLeod Road, east of Drummond Road, where a collision occurred between a car and a bicycle.
The 30-year-old Niagara Falls man was riding a bike with a wagon attached, in which the 36-year-old woman was seated. The bicycle and wagon were struck by a black 2010 Acura ZDX.
The man was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries, while the woman, who sustained critical injuries, died at the hospital.
The driver of the Acura, a 43-year-old woman from Thorold, was not injured.
The area was closed to traffic for several hours but has since been reopened.
