If you wake up on Friday to roaring outside – it’s not thunder.
It’s expected to be a sunny one in Port Dover, and OPP Constable Andrew Gamble says they are getting ready for what will likely be a very big day.
While the event isn’t held in the Niagara Region, area highways typically see an increased amount of motorcycles on Friday the 13th as many bikers cross the border and cut through the region to get to Port Dover.
While most Friday the 13th events go by with minimal concern, there is a worrying trend going into this year’s event.
Gamble is asking that you take your safety and the safety of others in mind when heading down, whether you’re on a motorcycle or driving a car.
Friday the 13th gatherings in Port Dover have been a staple of the small community since the early 80s, with hundreds of thousands of bikers taking part over the decades.
If this is your first visit down too, he has this advice.
Police will be out and about that day to provide assistance where needed.
