Atria Development and the City of St. Catharines have announced that the site hosting the former recreation facility at 25 YMCA Drive will be redeveloped into housing.
After reviewing Atria’s proposal, the City decided not to move forward due to high costs related to the building’s condition and operations. The land, which was sold to Atria back in 2022, used to house the Walker Family YMCA Branch.
Atria will reveal its vision for the site later this year, adding that it plans to transform it into a sustainable rental housing community.
