Hydro One is proposing a major power line between Welland and Thorold, with the goal of having it operational by 2029.
Vice President of Strategic Projects and Partnerships Sonny Karunakaran says it would add roughly 400 megawatts of capacity to the grid, which goes a long way.
Hydro One held an information session last night at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 383 in Welland to hear feedback from residents.
Karunakaran says hearing community feedback on projects like this is critical.
The proposed Welland Thorold Power Line is an approximately 18-kilometres, that will connect the Crowland Transformer Station in Welland to an existing transmission line in Thorold. Residents can provide feedback at Hydro One’s website.
