The Parole Board of Canada has changed its tone, and will now try and accommodate the families of Kristen French and Leslie Mahaffy so they can give in-person statement at Paul Bernardo’s parole hearing next week.
Originally, the Parole Board said that the victim’s mothers would have to deliver statements over video, instead of in person like in 2018.
The board’s decision to try and accommodate them for in-person statements comes after outrage online from residents and political figures of all parties. St. Catharines MP Chris Bittle says the original decision to only allow them to give statements over video is completely unacceptable.
