Niagara Regional Police responded to a fire at a construction site near Allen Trail and Whispering Woods Trail in Fort Erie.
On Saturday, March 8, upon arrival, officers found a row of townhomes fully engulfed in flames.
While the Fort Erie Fire Department worked to extinguish the fire, officers secured the area.
Witnesses reported seeing two males leaving the burning structure, and police quickly located and arrested them nearby.
36-year-old Michael Magin of Fort Erie and 45-year-old Jason Batt of St. Catharines have been charged with break and enter to commit mischief over $5,000.
No injuries were reported, and preliminary damage is estimated at $400,000, though this may change.
