Two of four Niagara ridings changed for federal election

Most Canadians will be voting in new ridings in the coming federal election.

Of the 338 old ridings, only 48 remain the same, five new ridings were added and one, in Toronto, was eliminated.

In Niagara there are four ridings: Niagara Falls-NOTL (formerly Niagara Falls), Niagara South (formerly Niagara Centre), Niagara West and St. Catharines.

Spokesperson for Elections Canada, Diane Benson explains why we see changes.

Benson says it’s important you know if your riding has changed and if so, where you should vote now because it might not be the place you know.

You can check your riding at elections.ca then just enter your postal code.
