The federal government is investing $19.25 million to upgrade Port Colborne’s water, wastewater, and stormwater systems.
The funding will support infrastructure improvements needed for housing developments and economic growth.
Without federal funding, the city says these upgrades would lead to sharp increases in property taxes and water bills, placing a heavy financial burden on residents.
The investment is delivered through the Canada Housing Infrastructure Fund.
