
The Conservative Party of Canada wants to put an emphasis on the skilled trades.
That was the focus of an announcement by Leader Pierre Poilievre at Ontario Shipyards in St. Catharines this morning.
Poilievre says he’s heard from local candidates that people in Niagara are worn out.

Audio PlayerThe plan announced today by the Conservatives includes promoting trades education in high schools, expanded funding for the UTIP program to train 350,000 new trades workers, and restoring apprenticeship grants of up to $4,000.
To date, Poilievre is the only federal party leader to appear in Niagara during the campaign. The federal election is April 28th.
