Conservative Fred Davies has captured the new seat in Niagara South, defeating Liberal incumbent Vance Badawey.
Badawey previously held the riding, known as Niagara Centre, since 2015.
Davies says to see this support from a new riding is humbling.
The riding of Niagara Centre was changed to Niagara South after the most recent round of re-distribution, which saw it gain from the Town of Fort Erie, which was previously in the riding of Niagara Falls.
In Niagara, Davies is one of three Conservative candidates to find success in the region, as Tony Baldinelli (Niagara Falls-NOTL) and Dean Allison (Niagara West) were both re-elected to their seats.
He says having this support in the region will be important moving forward.
In the St. Catharines riding, Chris Bittle was re-elected for the Liberals – his fourth victory in St. Catharines.
In the 2025 election, he finished as runner-up.
