The jobless rate in St. Catharines-Niagara inched up according to the latest report by Stats Canada.
Figures were released on Friday and while the national rate received the most attention, locally we crept up from 6.7 per cent in September to 6.9 in October.
Provincially the rate also went up went up 0.2 per cent in October compared to the previous month sitting at 6.2 per cent.
The report says the current job number coincide with the slowdown in the Canadian economy due to high interest rates.
