Municipalities across Niagara are gearing up for Canada Day celebrations, including the Town of Thorold.
Mayor Terry Ugulini says it’s important for them to keep festivities free for everyone to enjoy.
This year’s celebrations in Thorold will include a performance from the Niagara Jazz Festival on Saturday, as well as activities for visitors of all ages, and a fireworks display on Monday. Ugulini says it all worked out well with the Jazz Festival coming on board.
Executive Artist Producer and Co-Founder of the Jazz Festival, Juliet Dunn, says it all started with a conversation at an event last year – and has blossomed into a full day for Canada Day weekend.
The music will continue on Sunday with the City of Thorold’s popular Rock ‘N Blues event and close with beautiful fireworks at the Canada Day celebrations on Monday. All of these free events will take place from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Battle of Beaverdams Park.
