For nearly 60 years, Niagara College has been a hotbed of innovation, community and advancement for not just the Niagara Region, but for colleges across Ontario and Canada.
Sean Kennedy this week passed five years as President of Niagara College, and doesn’t plan on slowing down anytime soon. He says that having something like the pandemic so early in his tenure as President taught him a lot, but also challenged him to try and navigate something that’s constantly changing his surroundings. Kennedy feels that it also showed Niagara College’s perseverance, as they kept at least half of their students on campus as early as July 2020.
In 2025, Niagara College continues to be an economic leader, hosting its career fair this week with over 2000 jobseekers, many of them current students or alumni, to charitable work throughout the school year. From an education standpoint, NC has once again been named the #1 research college in Canada (for a second year in a row!), cementing it as one of the top institutions in the country.
Kennedy says the combination of community support, education and its economic impact, Niagara College is set up for success for years to come.
