Mishka Balsom was born and raised in business, and now helps run one of Niagara’s largest business-related organization.
As the CEO of the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce, Balsom has brought her business-savvy brain and mixed it with her media communications background. She says this combination has led to her becoming someone who can build relationships, solving problems and driving innovation – all essential to leading an organization like the GNCC.
She says she’s been in this role nearly 10 years, and has helped serve her passion of supporting local business. Despite being there a decade, Balsom says the time has absolutely flown by. She feels extremely rewarded to be in such a position, and is proud that she’s helped a number of businesses get through difficult times over the last 10 years.
From a business standpoint, she says the chamber does lots of work in advocacy with the provincial, federal and US government, all while strengthening the fiber of business in the Niagara Region.
